The Department of Social Work Library (DSWL) was established to serve the academic community and was named in honour of the first librarian of the department as the “B. S. Kumedan Library.” The library strives to facilitate access to knowledge, promote education, and preserve intellectual resources.
Its interdisciplinary collection covers areas such as Social Work, Social Policy, Disability Studies, Law, Management, Child, Youth and Women’s Studies, Anthropology, Social Deviance, and studies related to weaker sections of society.
The library always strives to provide “the right books and services to the right reader at the right time or place.” This reflects its strong commitment to the timely and efficient delivery of knowledge. The DSW Library continuously makes every effort and takes pride in fulfilling the information needs of its users.
Library Collection
The library boasts a collection of more than 34116 including books, journals and non-book materials, etc . It subscribes to 08 Newspapers including employment news,07 Magazines and 11 print journals. The collection is organized by subject for efficient access. A separate e -resource centre for accessing digital resources.
