The Department of Social work library (DSWL) was established to serve the academic community was named in honour of the first librarian of the department as “B.S. Kumedan Library ”. It strives to facilitate access Knowledge, promote education, and preserve the knowledge. The library’s rich history, commitment to access to knowledge, and its interdisciplinary collection Social Policy, Disability, Law, Management, Child, Youth and Women’s Study, Social Deviance, Anthropology and Weaker Section of the society etc. , highlight its role in both fostering education and preserving knowledge.
The annual " B.S. Kumedan " Library Award is an initiative that encourages library engagement and recognizes the importance of using library resources effectively and presented to the best library user among the MSW final year students.
The library’s motto—“Right books and services to the right reader or users at the right time or place” reflects a strong commitment to the timely and efficient delivery of knowledge.DSW library makes all efforts and feel pride to fulfil the motto of the library.
The library is open to all students, faculty members, and staff with a focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere enriched by natural light.
The library serves over 300 postgraduate students, more than 50 research scholar and faculty and staff members.
Library Collection
The library boasts a collection of more than 33811 including books, journals and non-book materials, etc . It subscribes to 08 Newspapers including employment news and 04 print journals. The collection is organized by subject for efficient access. Recently e -resource centre has been established to further support research and learning.
