About the Workshop
One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) is an initiative by the Govt. of India to provide nationwide access to academic and research journals. It aims to reduce subscription costs, promote knowledge sharing, and enhance research quality. By ensuring equitable access to scientific literature, ONOS aims to strengthen India's research ecosystem and innovation capacity. Through ONOS platform access is available for e-journals published by 30 renowned publishers. Delhi University Library System, with its strong history of academic excellence and commitment to resource accessibility, is poised to lead in this initiative. To facilitate discussions and bring stakeholders together, we are organizing a one-day workshop in collaboration with Sage on the concept of "Leveraging One Nation One Subscription for Research Excellence.
Objectives of the Workshop
To raise awareness among faculties, library professionals, researchers, and academic administrators about the "One Nation One Subscription" initiative along with the concept of excellence in research.

About the Speaker
Dr. Rajesh Singh, University Librarian, University of Delhi
Dr. Rajesh Singh who is University Librarian in University of Delhi since December 2020 has been instrumental in modernizing the Delhi University Library System (DULS), introducing ICT-based services and launching the DU E-Library. He initiated and regularly conducts the Information Literacy Program (ILP) at the University of Delhi. He has also developed syllabus-based electronic resource capsules for postgraduate students and introduced an online course 'Information Literacy for Research Competency.'
Dr. Nitin Paliwal, Deputy Librarian, University of Delhi
Dr. Nitin Paliwal is currently serving as Deputy Librarian at the Central Library, University of Delhi, since August 2024. At the University of Delhi, Dr. Paliwal is leading key digital transformation initiatives. His notable contributions include: library automation. website development, Delhi University Publishing, managing e-resources and streamlining the Patron Traffic Control System by integrating with Koha the library management software.
Dr. Lohrii Kaini Mahemei, Deputy Librarian, University of Delhi
Dr. Lohrii Kaini Mahemei joined the University of Delhi as a Deputy Librarian on 1st August 2024 and is currently Incharge of the Central Science Library, DULS. She has vast experience in university library administration and has many publications in national and international journals and has presented papers both at national and international conferences. She is well-versed in the DU E-library.
Dr. Susmita Mitra, Assistant Professor, Council for Social Development
Dr. Susmita Mitra is an Assistant Professor at the Council for Social Development (CSD), a premier research institute recognized by the ICSSR in New Delhi. Her research expertise lies in interdisciplinary approaches, including theoretical modeling, data analysis using statistics and econometrics, primary data collection through mixed methods and participatory approaches, system mapping, and agent-based modeling. She applies these methods to address complex social and developmental challenges, incorporating behavioral insights.
Her research focuses on policies related to climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resilience building, as well as inclusive education and gender issues. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes.
Dr. Mitra's dedication to research methodology is evident in her decade-long role as the coordinator of a short-term course on Research Methodology for Social Scientists, as well as her frequent invitations as a resource person at various universities across the country. For the past three years, she has served as the Book Review Editor and a member of the Editorial Team for Social Change, a Scopus-indexed journal jointly published by CSD and Sage.
Debbie Dhar, Senior Commissioning Editor, Sage
Debbie Dhar is Senior Commissioning Editor in the Journals Team at Sage and functions as the Head of Commissioning for India and SAARC Region. She has a background in English literature completing her Honour’s and Master’s from Miranda House, Delhi University. She always had an interest in the process of books and journals and the way the entire publishing process works. Invariably, she ended up in this industry with more than a decade’s worth of experience in publishing. She is currently at Sage and has throughout worked with major international publishing houses such as Pearson Education & Parragon Publishing in diverse profiles with a 360-degree overview ranging from developmental editing, production, visualizer, content commissioning, business development, strategy management and workshop trainer. Products covered have been as diverse as textbooks, trade books, encyclopedias, coffee table books, illustrated fiction books with the current responsibility of academic journals for the last seven years including HSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) and STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) Journals.
Manoj Gupta, Manager Training and Analytics, Sage
Mr. Manoj Gupta embarked on his journey with Sage in 2019. Since then, he has been at the forefront of our mission, spearheading workshops, and customer training programs across India. Dr Laura Blomvall, Engagement Manager, Aadam Matthew Digital
Dr Laura Blomvall has a PhD in modern poetry from University of York, UK. She joined AM 5 years ago and supports libraries, faculty and students make the most of their access to online primary source material in their research, teaching, and learning.
