It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Arts Library, a distinguished constituent of the Delhi University Library System, dedicated to nurturing scholarship, creativity, and intellectual engagement across the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Since its inception through the Executive Council Resolution No. 613 in 1982 and its emergence as an independent library in 1985, the Arts Library has been a beacon of academic excellence. 

Strategically located within the Central Library Complex, the Arts Library is uniquely positioned to serve the scholarly needs of 16 departments, ranging from Philosophy and Political Science to African Studies and Modern Indian Languages. Whether you are a postgraduate student, a doctoral researcher, or a member of the esteemed faculty, the library offers a wealth of resources and personalized services to support your academic journey. 

Our collection includes an extensive range of print and electronic resources — from classic texts to contemporary research, scholarly journals, theses, and multimedia materials — all carefully curated to meet the dynamic needs of the academic disciplines we serve. The physical infrastructure of the library, with its spacious reading areas and a seating capacity of 150, offers an ideal environment for focused study and collaborative research.
