LIBRARY RULES
Access & Conduct
- Eligibility: Primarily for ILC students and faculty; other students may access with prior permission.
- Entry: ID card is mandatory for entry into the Library. It is mandatory to make entries in the Library Entry Register before entering into the Library. Without entering name in the Library Register, no one is allowed to use the library.
- Food & Drinks: Only water in closed containers is allowed; no food or drinks are allowed to protect collections and equipment.
- Behavior: Silence must be maintained. Brief whispers for study discussions are permitted, but for prolonged conversations students should leave the Library to discuss.
- Make sure that the usage of Electronic Devices does not disturb fellow library users.
- Personal belongings such as bags and notes are not permitted inside the library.
Resource Use
- Borrowing: Present a valid university ID to check out materials; loan periods vary by user type (e.g., students: 2 weeks; faculty: 1 month).
- Restricted Items: Reference books, rare collections, and journals will be for in-library use only.
Preservation and Ethics
- Care for Materials: No writing, highlighting, or damaging books; report damages immediately.
- Copyright Compliance: Follow fair use guidelines—no unauthorised reproduction of protected works.
Responsibility
- Personal Belongings: Do not leave valuables unattended; The library is not liable for lost/stolen items.
Penalties
- Violations: May result in fines (e.g., overdue books), suspension of borrowing privileges, or disciplinary action for misconduct.
